2nd Annual Veterans and Families Mushroom Hike

On September 19th we had our 2nd annual mushroom hike. This hike was enjoyed by many people. Our star mushroom expert, Dawn Wehman, was AMAZING! We all learned so much.

The day started at the barn. We then all drove up to the firefly house where we had a nice campfire going. From there we all adventured into the woods. Everyone had egg cartons to collect all the mushrooms they wished to. Dawn was extremely busy IDing everyone's find. We spent a few hours just going over a few acres of land, that's how many mushrooms were out there.

At the end, we all came back to the firefly house for snacks and drinks. Those snacks included cooking and eating some of our finds. We know that Dawn is a true expert because we are all still here to talk about it!! ;)
